Manon de Reeper

After making her mark on film journalism as founder and Editor-in-Chief of film magazine Film Inquiry, Manon de Reeper moved into the filmmaking space as a horror writer/director/producer. Her directorial debut, psychological horror short film Uncontrol, was shot during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the course of 2021, the film was accepted into the largest film festival of the Caribbean, the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival, into Austin After Dark, and many other festivals. She is co-author of the forthcoming ANIMUS graphic novel series, headed by Star Trek: Discovery and Locke & Key showrunner Aron Eli Coleite, to be published by Aftershock Comics.

Manon possesses post-graduate degrees in Clinical Psychology and Global Criminology. She was born and raised in The Netherlands and is of mixed Afro-Surinamese descent. A cultural bridge-builder, she travels the world full-time and her only true home base is her sailboat.
