Kristen Calderon (Acjachemen/Kumeyaay) grew up in Southern California and currently resides on her tribe’s reservation in San Diego. She was a fellow in the 2022 Native American TV Writers Lab and was a recipient of the 2nd Native American Writers Accelerator Grant from the Native American Media Alliance. She was recently selected as a fellow in the 2023 Native American Feature Film Lab. She also participated in The Greenhouse Arts & Media Catalyst Writers Group. She writes Indigenous stories that resonate within Indigenous communities with a focus on pushing forward a more modernized vision of Indigenous people to show we are still here and thriving. 

Kristen credits Women of Color Unite and the amazing mentors she’s had for the opportunities that have come her way, and is proud to support WOCU and their mission. She is a proud wife and mother and hopes to inspire her kids to always reach for the stars and never give up on your dreams.
